Setting Up Notifications

There are several ways that you can be notified of new messages: E-mail Delivery, Message Forwarding or Pager Notification. By default, message notification is not activated.

E-mail Delivery
A notification e-mail is sent to the e-mail address you specify. This not only alerts you of a new message, but the new message is sent along with the e-mail as an attachment.

Message Forwarding
Calls you at the telephone number you specify. If the call is answered, the called party will be asked to enter the security code for the mailbox. After the security code is entered, the new message will begin to play.

Pager Notification
Calls your pager and enters a pre-determined digit string indicating the mailbox number where the new message was left.


  1. Go to www.800Link.com.
  2. Click "Login" at the top right.
  3. Enter the requested information, then click "Submit".
  4. Expand the "Services" node to display your services if it is not already expanded (clicking on the node itself expands/collapses the node).
  5. Expand the node of the service you wish to modify.
  6. Click on "New Message Notification".
  7. Select the notification method and enter the telephone number or email address notifications should be delivered to.
  8. Click "Update".
To verify notification is set up and working properly, call your number and leave a test message.
